Clinic Downtime

Unexpected EHR disruptions can significantly affect clinical workflows, patient care, and daily operations. In this three-module tabletop exercise, participants will navigate an unplanned system outage during a busy clinic shift, manage patient care and documentation using downtime procedures, and transition back to normal operations once the system is restored. Participants will evaluate their organization’s downtime policies, communication processes, paper-based workflows, and recovery procedures to identify gaps and strengthen operational continuity and patient safety.
