Downtime

This exercise evaluates the acute care facility’s ability to maintain safe patient care and essential clinical operations during an unplanned EHR outage. Participants will assess downtime procedures, interdisciplinary documentation, medication and treatment management, patient admissions, communication with IT and clinical leadership, and the process for accurately reconciling patient information once the EHR is restored.
