Internal Fire

This exercise evaluates the acute care facility’s ability to recognize, respond to, and manage a fire within a patient care area. Participants will assess fire response procedures, patient evacuation and accountability, staff roles and responsibilities, coordination with the fire department, and the facility’s ability to maintain patient safety and essential care during an extended disruption.
